Poetry Performance/Chautauqua

On November 19th, our class performed poetry at the public library for Koogler 8th graders.
I initially was incredibly stressed about the performance.  I had so...SO much going on right then and it seemed like the one added thing was going to make me snap...and I did.  I had a meltdown after I found out that I was going to need to memorize lines and perform them that week.
Day of the performance came and I had become more settled about the idea of it all.  I was still nervous, but I had memorized my lines and was working with Valerie and Amber, two incredible girls who have been lifelines to me this semseter!
In all the performance went well.  The group was small, but they seemed to enjoy all that they were seeing.  Valerie and Amber were absolutely halarious in their performance of The Generals, and I didnt "kill the magic" during my narration OR during the James and the Giant Peach poem.  Yippie! :)
It turned out much, MUCH better than I would have thought it would.
